Praise God for his life!

My dad went to be with Jesus this morning at 11:35am. His body could not fight off the infections. His battle with the infections and the side effects are over. Praise God for his life! He was such a great man, the best. I thank God for every moment he gave me with him. More details to come.

    Kevin,
I praise God too for your dad's life. I don't remember all the things he taught me in Bible College 10+ years ago but a couple of things I do remember... His absolute child-like wonder that the King of the Universe would call him to be a follower, and also call him to leadership in His church- He was always in awe of God's incredible grace... the other thing was when he talked about heaven and getting his new glorified body. He'd be positively bubbling with joy as he spoke about being able to walk through walls and go from one floor of a building to the next without using the stairs! but the thing that has stood out for me over the years is that he truly cared for us- we always knew it. He was a great guy who loved Jesus- I am so thankful that I had the priviedge of knowing him. I'm glad he built into my life.

    Mike

    Kevin:

I only just heard of your dad's cancer last week on Wednesday, and then on Friday I heard that he had died.

I am sad at the news, but ultimately, I am honoured and humbled to have known him during my time at college.

Dr. Smith (can I call him Lyle?) was and will remain in my top 5 list of key influential people in my life. Through his teaching and instruction while at NBI, I was able to discover the joy in critical and analytical thinking and studying. These skills are eternally valuable for me throughout life, and not only when attempting to sort through heady or lofty theology.

    A true man.
