Heavier Side of Life

Remember I told you about my muffler falling off? Well, I finally took it in today to get fixed. I got to the muffler place and pointed out that the muffler was in the trunk. He went underneath the car and came right back up. He told me that I had a gas leak. I told him I knew that, but it didn't look too bad. He told me to follow him. So, we went down the stairs underneath my precious piece of metal and looked up. Uh, oh. Between the smell of gasoline and the steady drip coming down the side of the gas tank, I knew my pocket would soon be getting lighter. Although, nobody's pockets actually get lighter now-a-days, just that our plastic gets swiped more. Like I always say, "Swipe and forget!" I guess during my trip from my house to the muffler place the leak really started dripping. I then took my nameless Pontiac to a GM dealer to have it looked at. A hundred dollars later they told me there was a leak in the fuel line and all three lines were rusty so they needed to be replaced. Mmhmm (Relient K!!). The parts are coming from Ontario, apparently. As for the exhaust, I need a new pipe and then they'll fit the muffler on it. They say my problems will be solved hopefully by Friday. Again, mmhmm. I guess I will have to get a lame-o job. Great! Sounds like fun. Reality bites. Oh, question: how do I get a job if I don't have a car? Mmhmm. I suppose one might say that I should have already had a job in the two months that I've been sitting on my assets. However, I didn't see one I liked. Or else the one that I liked, I didn't get hired for. But life goes on.
