The Corporation

Well, I just finished writing a huge blog about how corporations are taking over but when I went to save it, it wouldn't and I lost it all. Figures. Corporations are out to get us.

Home

I'm home! I have less than 8 days to get all my belongings packed and over to my parents place for storage. He, he. They love me. And I have a million errands to run before then too. I think I'll just sit here and listen to Coldplay. For those of you in Nipawin, I'll hopefully be coming out before camp starts. So....sometime next week, if I can get my act together. Man it's beautiful out! Better weather than BC. Camp is gonna rock so hard! I found out who all is coming.

Hey guys. I went camping on Wednesday and came back yesterday afternoon. It was fun. I stayed near Tofino in a National Park Campground. The campground itself is situated above a beach along the ocean. I had a spot right on the hill overlooking the ocean. I ran into some frustration when I realized I didn't have a hatchet to cut up the blocks of wood. But I ended up getting a fire going, after a while, with the huge chunks of wood (for those of you that wonder why I carry a knife on me--for times like these). There are so many hiking trails throughout the park. I did 4 or 5 out of the 8 of them. Some of them are short but some are much longer, like 4 kms. I talked with a few people along the way, nothing too intense. I realized (again) just how freakin' small my tent is. It's supposedly a 2-man tent. Hah! I barely fit. I had to curl up my legs or else I wouldn't have been able to zip the door shut. But it was fun. Well, Jason & Leanne are getting married tomorrow. And then on Sunday I start my trek back to the flatlands. I'll stop in to see my grandparents in Chilliwack and then my bro in Calgary. So I will be home around the 19th. Just in time to see Collective Soul on the 20th!

Still Here

I've been pretty busy the last few days, just exploring the Island and fishing all over. I finally caught a fish today. Seems like all the tourists got the rest of 'em and I got the last one. Could be. Ya, I had made my own lure with a bunch of beads and a flasher and I put a worm on it. Then I said, "Lord, bless this lure that I've made in the name of Jesus Christ." I threw out the line and WHAM, I had a fish. Then I fished for 2 more hours but nothing. I'm gonna go explore Tofino tomorrow and maybe camp somewhere out there. It's on the West side of the Island. I've never been out there so it should be fun. Then later in the week I'm going up North to the Campbell River area. I've never been up there either. Man, the trees here are so HUGE and really TALL, I love it! The other day my aunt and I went to Parksville (15 minutes away) and hit up some new/used music and book shops. I picked up the Braveheart soundtrack. And we went to this cool little coffee shop where I got a steamed vanilla milk....sooo good! Wednesday I'm going to fish in the Little Qualicum River. My aunt is gonna show me a good spot. I wish my uncle was around too, but he's off somewhere chopping down trees.

Vancouver Island Baby!

I guess it's May 4th, 'cause my birthday was 3 days ago. No thanks to those that forgot.....jj.


Hey guys!! I'm having a blast on the Island! Nothing but good fishing and sunny skies....ha ha, ya right! I've been skunked every time I fish and it's been cloudy with some rain for the past 3 days. But it's sooo fun! I fell alseep in the river the other day. Ya, I took my fold-up chair out into the mouth of a river 'cause it's really shallow and then I cast into Cameron lake 'cause it drops off where the river ends. So one morning I had gotten up early and I was really tired so I threw a worm on a hook and bobber out and I just couldn't keep my eyes open. Sorry if I don't make sense, I'm kinda out of it. My aunt and I went canoeing all day today. She read her books and I fished. That was at Spider Lake. I might go try out Little Qualicum River sometime this week. What day is it anyway? I dunno, I'm on vacation. Yeah, I'm probably gonna stay here an extra week and hit up Jay's wedding I think. I want to fish up on the North part of the island, too. And I might go to Winnipeg when I get back home. Oh, and Collective Soul is on May 20th!! That'll be sweet....especially if they play their old school stuff. Well, I better go for supper and then I gotta go for supper again after that. I like family.
