Unexplainable Peace

Prayer:

1. Praise God for the unexplainable peace He has given me and my family! Praise Him for allowing us to be used in this situation!

2. Please pray that dad doesn't get a cold or flu as surgery is coming up on Thursday.
God's will to be accomplished.

3. Dad says they have been praying for revival in the church for some time now. This could be the beginnings! Pray for revival in Trinity Baptist Church and area (North Battleford, SK).

4. We have many unsaved family members that are in shock and don't have the hope we cling to, please pray for them.

5. Please pray for my brother, being so far away is hard. Pray that I can concentrate on my studies.

Although I'm scared about the future it's reasurring to know that God is in control.

Cancer hasn't spread....

As far as the doctors can tell from the test today the cancer hasn't spread to the bladder. Still could be elsewhere?? February 2nd is surgery and we will see if they will go ahead with the major surgery that day when they open dad up. Forgot to ask how church went....been a busy day. Keep sending those prayers up.

More Updates

Correction ... the 20% is the chance that they can do the surgery ... therefore there is an 80% chance with these kinds of cancers that they wont be able to do surgery. According to the surgeon a cure is possible only if they can do surgery. According to my God nothing is impossible (Luke 1:36-38).

Dad says:
"Praise the Lord ... we heard from Kerey tonight at supper ... an answer to prayer. Praise the Lord ... I'm still feeling strong ... bit of indigestion/bloating ... slight pain in the right side (better than pain in the neck 8-) Praise the Lord jaundice has lightened somewhat with much consumption of purified water and Mannatech and rest and most importantly of all the prayers of God's people. God gave me these verses after we got the 'bad news'--Psalm 20:1-5 (Living Bible) ... but read the whole psalm ... very encouraging. Also check out th Good News translation of it."

So we heard from my brother, praise God! He is fine he was just busy. So he now knows what is happening. Pray that as he is so far away (in Korea) that God's people would come alongside him to comfort him.

Please continue to pray for the requests below (excluding tracking down my brother). Mom and dad showed up at church today without many people knowing so I want to phone and find out how that went. The church was just planning on an informal sharing/praying time which is very different for that church (as I understood it).

God bless you all with peace and joy as you take time to reflect on His amazing goodness to you and your family.

Update on Dad

Well for those of you that don't know--my dad has found out in the last 48 hours that he has cancer. I don't have every detail but here is what I do have. So far, we know that the cancerous tumor is 2 inches in diametre. It is located near his pancreus. He is out of the hospital until Monday when he goes back to City Hospital in Saskatoon for tests to see if the cancer has spread. Some signs show that it might have spread elsewhere but we don't know that. Surgery is scheduled for February 2nd but if the cancer has spread it will not happen. If surgery is viable there is a 20% chance that it will be successful. They would have to remove a lot of his of his pancreus, his gallblader, some of his stomach, and some of his upper bowel. As far as I know the only other option is Chemo-Theropy. Mom has dad on some herbal meds.

God is touching people's lives through this already. Here are some requests for prayer:

1. God's will to be accomplished. Praise Him for allowing us to be used in this situation! All glory goes to God!

2. Monday is when dad goes in for tests to see if the cancer has spread. Please pray about this.

3. Continued peace, comfort, and the needs of Lyle and the Smith Family at this time. Praise God for undertaking in all of these areas.

4. Dad says they have been praying for revival in the church for some time now. This could be the beginnings! Pray for revival in Trinity Baptist Church and area (North Battleford, SK).

5. We have many unsaved family members that are in shock and don't have the hope we cling to, please pray for them.

6. My brother, Kerey, does not know this is going on. Please pray that he would contact us or that we would be able to track him down. He is in South Korea teaching English and we think is in the middle of a house move so he has no phone or internet. We haven't heard from him in 2 weeks.

Thank you so much for your prayers and encouragement. We are relying on God in all of this. We know God is in absolute control over everything and praise Him for this fact! This is all I have for today. Check back for more updates.
