Uncertain

The word uncertain has played a big part in my life this year. There are many things that have made me feel or act with uncertainty. I want to give them over to God one by one. Please pray for me as I'm on this journey.

Today is the third consecutive day I haven't been up to see dad. This sore throat and headache doesn't want to go away just yet and I don't want to pass my germs on to dad. Hopefully they let him out this week, he is so bored!

Four or Fourteen?

It'll be fourteen days since dad was admitted to RUH. So much for four days. Due to the fact that his counts have to come down and then go back up, he is sitting around waiting to get out. He says he is very bored. There is an ultrasound needing to be done because they think the shunt that opened up the bile duct (put in at the end of Feb.) has slipped. If it has, they will go down through dad's throat and fix it. His overall health is good. His counts are all way down but he is walking around and feeling pretty good today.

X-Ray Blues

We found out the results from this surprise CT Scan. Apparently the X-Ray that was done around the 13th showed no signs of the tumor or speck on dad's lung. But it was a mistake. The CT Scan that was done on the 16th shows the tumor and the speck. Our hopes were high as we had thought God worked a miracle. But we are still vigilant that God will heal dad if He chooses to do so. The good news is neither the tumor or speck have grown any bigger. Mom has been down for a couple days, she goes back sometime today. Please continue to pray for dad's healing and he's been getting pretty tired from lack of sleep due to the never ceasing hiccups. Dad goes home Friday now, if all goes well.

I'm still applying places and jazz. Not really finding to many jobs I'm interested in. I might have to break my life-long promise to myself to never work for a fast food place. Right! I would starve first. But anyway, I would appreciate your prayers for my back to heal and for work.

Please pray for my friend Becka. She was recently in a car accident that totalled her car. She is fine now but still recovering. Late last night she phoned and told me her dad had just called and informed her that her grandpa passed away. She really needs prayer right now. Thanks.

Update

Dad is undergoing his third day of chemo today. He seems to be in good health with little side effects, besides lack of sleep. The doctors did a CT scan yesterday to see if there are any changes since the last scan. Hopefully we'll get the results in a week.

I meant to ask mom how grandpa is doing. I will try and find out for the next post.

I injured my back while on the job, just about two weeks ago. I'm still waiting for it to heal so I can get back to finding work. I'm really uncertain at this point as to what I'm going to do for work, as hauling has died down for the winter. The place I'm living in was recently sold and the new owners requested that we stay and sign a rental agreement. My roomate and I expressed that we would like to remain renting this place. But now we received an eviction notice because the new owners want to renovate. So we need to find something for the start of next month.

Thank you for your prayers and concern with all that is going on in my family.

The Bed

Dad was admitted to RUH yesterday. The staff phoned in the afternoon and asked why he wasn't there yet. He responded that he was not informed there was a bed. And so mom and dad packed up and headed to Saskatoon once again. They put dad in the Palliative Care Room because there are no beds in the cancer area, I guess. His case of shingles has still not cleared up so this could be a factor in why he is not in the cancer area (as it could be contageous to people with low immune systems). Well, I'm going up to see him shortly. Take care and God bless.

Delay

We found out yesterday that dad has Shingles. He has been given some anti-viral medicine to deal with this and it should be cleared up within a week at the earliest. Please continue to pray for dad's healing of cancer and this shingles virus.

The Cancer Program

Dad is in some sort of cancer research program. He has been chosen to do a 4 day stretch of chemo as soon as a bed is available. I will write more soon.
